Four Decades of Building Excellence
O'Connor Custom Builders is owned and operated by Scott O'Connor, who brings more than 45 years of construction and business management experience to every project. Scott's journey in construction began in 1976, where he worked predominantly in Fairfield County, Connecticut, building a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliable service.
In the late 1990s, Scott moved to Nantucket Island to build a custom home for a client—a project that would change the trajectory of his career and connect him permanently to this unique island community. Recognizing the special requirements and opportunities that Nantucket presented, Scott founded O'Connor Custom Builders in 1999.
Our Nantucket Journey
Since establishing OCB in 1999, we have completed over 90 custom homes on Nantucket, each one reflecting our commitment to exceptional quality and client satisfaction. Our quarter-century on the island has given us deep insight into Nantucket's unique building requirements, from historic preservation considerations to coastal construction challenges.
This extensive island experience means we understand not just how to build on Nantucket, but how to build homes that truly belong here—structures that respect the island's character while incorporating modern comfort and functionality.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide high quality custom homes and renovations starting from preliminary budgeting and scheduling through a finished product. We are committed to providing the best quality possible while being budget conscious and maintaining open lines of communication with all involved. Then we continue with ongoing service to the client long after the project is complete.
